help. herpes questions
So I had what I thought was an ingrown hair or pimple on the side on my vaginal opening. I squeezed for almost 10 minutes and crying the whole time to pop it. It was super sore. I went to bed and then next day I was still sore there but a couple new little bumps popped up. I went to a walk in clinic and the first nurse lady looked and immediately said oh herpes. I asked for another opinion and the next doctor came in and said he thinks it's herpes but he wanted to do a culture and put me on some antibiotics I think it was and then said well maybe it's a fungal infection if your always moist or wet down there. Which I am A lot. So he gave me this anti fungal cream to put on it. Now since I noticed them (4 days) they've itched a bit, and if I sit wrong they give me a little pain and now cuz I tried popping the one I had they hurt a bit. Doctor asked if I had any grey or milky discharge but because I was so anxious and freaking out I said no but I thought about it when I left and I actually have had a slight bit of it. I did go to the er a week ago because I was sick and was coughing so bad I was coughing stuff up but that is separate I think. I'm not sure what else to put here but ask if this is really herpes or something else? I'm sick to my stomach, panic attacks since they told me and more. I don't think I can wait a full week for results from the culture he took.
Also I'm not sure how true this is but I read that being on antibiotics can Cause fungal infections. I was z pack from Monday until Friday last week. I had a sinus infection that was spreading to my throat.
So.. Update- I've been on the cream for fungal infection and the pills for possible herpes for 3 days. I realized yesterday morning that my tongue has had like this weird white coating and it's kinda really hard to brush off if at all. And the whatever it is 'down there' is almost gone. nothing has gotten bigger, different, spread, anything. Just going away. Almost gone in fact. I'm not sure if that is pertinent. I can't find anything that says the white tongue is a sign of hsv or a side effect of either meds. Just that it's a sign of thrush? Or Candida...? But I'm not sure.
This is too hard to call right now. There is the possibility that it is herpes as well as a fungal condition. You need to await the swab outcome before next steps are contemplated.

Well I've taken 2 days(4doses) of the 1000mg pills they gave me for hsv and I've been doing the cream they gave me of nyastatin for a fungal infection. From what I've read- no change would happen in 24 hours if it were hsv. But I've done the cream multiple times a day since yesterday and it's already clearing up. Could it be a misdiagnosis? Because I don't see the pills making such a change in such a short time.
HSV is not a standard test within an STD/STI panel, it will usually need to be explcitly requested.

All I know is the doctor called and I heard the doctor tell him he came back cleared for everything.
But the doctor said if I have been abnormally wet or moist or sweaty then it could be a fungal infection. with the weather lately I've been sweaty and I'm typically always moist or whatever. But Idk if it matters, I spend 30 minutes in a hot car 2 ways each day to work, I wear black business pants, and it's been pretty hot lately... I'm not sur. if that matters
Once with my boyfriend. But he is clean. He was tested just a couple months ago. Blood work said clear. And tbh I don't believe he would cheat on me. He sleeps, works second shift, then spends time with me then goes to bed. So he doesn't even have time.
They tested me with culture test yesterday. I first saw the bumps or whatever 5 days ago now. And they gave me some 1000 mg acyclovir...? And they put me on topical nyastatin for if it's fungal. But I'm already seeing results. The bumps are already starting to fade.I've only had 3 doses of the pill for herpes. And cream for fungal I've done 4x.
Did they also test your discharge for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally?
It's been 4 days since the culture, I'd give the clinic a call and ask if your test results are back yet.
