help with blood test results

by shaquita, Nov 03, 2008 09:44PM
These were the results from my previous partner's blood test.

Hsv2 IGG AB >10.0; HSV2 AB INTERP Positive.

Can you interpret this info and walk me through what the results mean?

Thank you

Do you know what test he had - was it HerpeSelect?  This appears to be a type specific IgG test, but 10+ seems high even for a positive HerpeSelect numerical result.

I know he did a blood test and had a culture test.   Also, what does it mean to have greater than 10? What does the number represent and is there any way to determine if this is a newer exposure or pre-existing?
