This forum is an un-mediated, patient-to-patient forum for questions and support regarding herpes issues such as: Herpes symptoms and treatments, causes, diagnosis, and herpes in men, tests, telling your spouse or partner.
Just yesterday I had unpretected sex with some one with herpes, now they didn't have any visible out breaks, but this has been on my mind since it happened. Whats the likley hood of me being infected too ?
since this was unprotected sex, you should consider covering your std testing bases at the proper times. You can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.
always protect yourself and only have protected sexual contact with a partner regardless of if they have herpes or not! It saves you testing, saves you worry and helps keep the odds even more in your favor of not contracting a std :)
