herbs for herpes

Thanks to a bad doctor(she is a true moron), years ago I ended up with chronic shingles. No doctor I saw ever checked my endocrine system, (or told me the preventative benefits of Acyclovir, so I never took it). After 14 years my endocrine system crashed just after a move 4 years ago, it caused the shingles to run nonstop. After a couple of months the nerve pain started. When your endocrine system crashes you do not have the energy to feel fear, concern, worry etc. or to get help, so for 2 years it ran amok. I finally did get help and just as the shingles finally backed off, gen. herpes that had apparently been dormant for at least 18 years, (yes, herpes can be dormant in the human body, even for a lifetime, this makes me think that pretty much anyone who's had sex has it), started up, with it came the pain. The herpes nerve pain just traveled on down there. Believe me herpes nerve pain is SO much worse than shingles nerve pain. I cannot take pain meds and they do not really have anything foir nerve pain. I have been on Zovirax for 2 years, 3200mg a day and it helps a bit. I take Viruxo because it is a more bioavailable L-Lysine, also Astragalus and Olive leaf, Chiropractic and Acupuncture and they all seem to help a bit. I know this because the nonstop (so consecutive that it appears to be nonstop according to the specialist) outbreak gets worse if I stop these things. Ice helps some but not as much as it used to which scares the pants (LOL) off me. Getting my endocrine fixed did not stop the outbreak, a major disappointment, but it did give me ALOT more energy and mental ability for dealing with this. I do control my diet, even sugar can trigger an outbreak so no cake for me darn it! I keep stress as low as I can, I got stuck with the house I left because it didn't sell, it's rented so I can keep it but it is a constant stresser. I play Lotto games and pray for a miracle. Does anyone know of any "Big Guns" thing that might knock this back so I can get a break from the outbreak and the pain? The herpes with nerve pain has not stopped for 1 yr. and 5 months. I have pets who depend on me and I will never, ever desert them. Without them in my life I can't say I'd tolerate this much longer.

what testing have you had done so far?

do you follow up with a neurologist and a dermatologist also?
