herpes and other stds

Dear Doctors,
First want to thank you for taking the time for answering all these questions.  Im sure you already know what great resources you are to all of us - so thank you...

Had a question.  The other night, I had a sexual encounter with a Asian sex worker in NY.  I used a condom and received oral sex with the condom.  Before I knew it, I had about five seconds of protected vaginal sex.  I stopped her when I realized this and ended up leaving.  As soon as I got home and realizing my stupidity, I went home, showered, and cleaned my gentials with rubbing alcohol.  Did the same thing the following morning.

My question for you is - am I at high risk re herpes or any other STD's?  After reading some of the other posts, that herpes seems like one of the only STD's that I could have contracted.  Any others I should be worries about?  Also, do you think the alcohol could/would have helped with preventing any disease?  the alcohol burns.. but at least I hope it was worth it.

Thank you again.

This isn't the doctor's forum, but your risk is very low for herpes, or any other std or HIV.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you get symptoms.

And no, alcohol after (or washing, or using anything else after sex) does not help prevent infection.
