herpes asymptomatic

My doctor did a general panel of blood tests which included herpes and I was positive.  After reading alot of information I have never had a breakout and can only imagine I was infected probably in college 20 years ago as I have had minimal partners in the last 10 years and none of them have it ( I checked) .  Do I need to be concerned, my doctor did not seem to think it was a big deal unless I had an outbreak.

We can best help you if you get a copy of your blood tests and post the numeric results here - ie hsv1 igg . 45 and hsv2 igg 3. 9 or whatever theya re. We can then let you know if you were properly tested and if you need any additional confirmatory testing.  If you have a regular partner now, they also need tested.  As a fyi - most folks are not tested for herpes so don't take anyone's word for it unless you've seen their blood test results with your own eyes.
