herpes denial??

I recently got diagnosed with Herpes type 2. I was kind of shocked that I got it. Any way I wanted to know if it is okay to get a second opinion on herpes results or am I in denial. Note: doctor took cells from old sore and i wanted to know if I should get it done by blood test which might be more accurate.

if you had a lesion culture come back as + for hsv2, then you have it. No need for any other testing unless you want to know if you also have hsv1.  did your lesion culture come back as + or was the lesion culture negative but your provider visually diagnosed you as having genital herpes?

do you have a regular partner? if so, have they had a herpes igg blood test yet to know their status?
