herpes false positive

im so confused right now!!! i recently was tested for all std and my hsv1 as well ashsv 2 came back positive. my value for hsv2 was a 1.14 the doctor advised me that blood test are not wrong but also advised me that the equovical value is 1.10. and that since my value was only a little over that it could be a false positive. imy partner and i have never had an outbreak or any sympton. i went in for a retest and am waiting for the results. is it possible that the test can be false

your blood test is indeed a low positive and needs further confirmatory testing.

thank you for commenting ..yes my partner has been tested and his blood work came back negative. thats where the confusion comes in we have been in a relation ship for 6 yeras and have had unprotected sex.so if i tested positive shouldnt he as well?? its so confusing with the value range the doctopr did say i was real close to be equvacol but because the positive value is anything over 1.10 she had to consider it a positive...
