herpes from receicing oral sex?

Is that possible for a man to get herpes(hsv1 or hsv2)from receiving oral sex from another person?
if yes,how long is the incubation period for herpes?
if i want to get tested,when should i go after the day of exposure?

i did not get tested before.
so wang to know from you ,how long should i wait from the day of exposure?

You could already have HSV and not know if you haven't tested before.  If you have HSV-1 (coldsores) then you would hae a higher immunity from getting HSV-1 genitally.  About 50% of the US population has HSV-1 orally.  

You would have to wait at least 3 months to get an accurate blood test.  Oral sex is a low risk for herpes.  Not every expsoure leads to transmission.  You can wait 2-20 days if you don't see anything chances are you didn't catch herpes.

To answer your question yes you can get herpes from oral sex but its low risk.

you aren't likely at all to contract hsv2 from receiving oral sex.

Honestly if you don't get obvious genital symptoms within 3 weeks of receiving oral sex, odds are you didn't contract hsv1 genitally.    It's not worth any testing for herpes from the encounter unless you get symptoms.

If you've never been tested for herpes before, consider getting it done at some point so that you know your own status so you can discuss it with future partners.

what if that person has cold sores in mouth(got HSV-1 orally), does it mean hsv-1 could be transmitted from mouth to genital by oral sex?

yes you can contract hsv1 genitally from someone with oral hsv1 performing oral sex on you.

hsv1 stays hsv1 regardless of location. same with hsv2. hsv1 can't turn into hsv2 or vice versa.

hello grace.
today i went to the clinic ,and they told me i can get tested for HSV-1 and HSV-2.
but they were not sure when can i get tested post exposure.because there was no doctor there ,only the counter girls.

could give me advince,if i go to get tested 3 month post exposure ,will the result be accurate?
and if a person got HSV-1 (cold sores) before,will he be tested positive whenever he get tested???(even cold sore does not recur).

yes, cold sores are hsv1. if you had cold sores as a child then you should expect to test + for hsv1 on the type specific igg blood test.
