I think "jockey itch" is when the rider can't wait to get on the horse.

His gf's doctor diagnosed her with herpes.  He hasn't been to the doctor yet.

Assuming his gf had the proper testing done, then I'm not sure what you are so excited about, Slacker.

Jock itch and herpes are commonly misdiagnosed as the other one.  I had a patient at my clinic who had been told he had herpes for 12 years, and it turned out it was jock itch.

That's why the proper testing is so important.  Dakoach, did her doc do a culture or a blood test?  If its a visual diagnosis, that's not going to be good enough here.

You mean to say you went to a Doctor with burning and itching and he/she diagnoses this as Herpes??? There has to be more.. If there isn't, get another Doctor!!!!! Even when there are lesions present a Doctor could misdiagnose Herpes and here you have one that diagnoses it without.. If this is the complete story I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet.. It's people like this why they call medicine a PRACTICE :)

Jock itch is a fungal infection.  It is not herpes. That said - perhaps what you think is only jock itch isn't?  You'll need to get yourself a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is.

How did they diangose your gf as having herpes? Did they do any testing?
