herpes on wife

My wife she is 64,just overnight,broke out in what looks like to me herpes blisters,we have had no other sex partners for over 20yrs,and she had no symptoms what so ever,just over night.there is was,left side vaginal area.I looked up the pics on the websites for herpes and is exact image to us..can this happen after over 20years with no other sex partner,and no symptoms what so ever..thanks much,,we are both very worried what this could be,

what you need to do is go get lesion cultures, given that the sores are still fresh, and igg blood tests for both of you. their could be so many possibilties. do you have a history of cold sores? if so you might have transmitted it through oral sex. it could also be a yeast infection or folliculitis. you need to go get this checked ASAP. could also be something that has to do with nothing. there is no real point in worrying. the worst it is is herpes, and a simpler explanation is a yeat infection or bacterial infection.

No cold sore history,and no oral sex from me to her,we are both pretty much handicapped,she is partial paralized from stroke years ago.Just no symptoms,and like I said.no sex partners for over 20yrs,just showed up overnight,strange don't ya think.20yrs later,thanks much for your help..

She needs to go and be seen and get proper testing done as was already suggested.  This could be a prior herpes infection that is just now showing an obvious recurrence, a bacterial infection , fungal infection or many other things and she'll need proper diagnosis to find out what is going on. Indeed yes you can have herpes for half a lifetime and not realize it - it's far more common than most folks realize it is.
