herpes or razor bumps

i just recently shaved my genetal area and on my inner thighs around the area everything was normal for a day or 2 and then i started noticing one bigger pimple type bump it sorta popped but there was a hair coming out of the bump so i plucked it and it seems to be going away. but as that started to clear up i started getting little red bumps all over the area that was shaved and one on the side of my penis. i think they are just from irritation because i hadnt shaved for a while but i am concerned about the one on the side of my penis. it was a bump that seemed somewhat scabbed over but not like a normal scab. i am hoping that it is just irritation from being rubbed raw from dryness during sex. what could this be am i ok or should i be really concerned and go get myself tesed or am i just worrying too much? by the way there are many bumps all around the area not just a few but it looks like there is hair comin out of most but some have no hair growing out. what should i do? somebody please help!!!!

My advice would be to be seen soon rather then later.  Given you have active symptoms I would be checked by your doctor and request a culture/PCR test.  This could be nothing at all and it could be something to look into.  How long ago was your sex to the date you noticed the bumps?  How long have the bumps been there?  Best time for culture is within 48 hours.  If you can't see your doctor get to an STD clinic for evaulation and testing if they feel its needed.

Sounds like classic folliculitis, especially if hairs are coming out of the bumps. Be sure to toss your razor often, and don't use the same razor for face/genitals. That being said, as mistakeguy said, be seen for a proper exam as we can only offer so much in an online forum. But your symptoms sound more of irritated hair follicles.
