that was the wrong test you were given. it's a combined test and a + result tells you little to nothing. your provider needs to learn to order type specific herpes igg blood testing and you need to repeat your test.
First off you shouldn't be getting igm testing done. it's a waste of time.
Most adults have hsv1. for most adults they have it orally. Did you have any genital symptoms that caused you to start this testing process or was it just a routine
, abdomen pain . yesterday i received my hsv 2 igm and igg antibodies result which was negative. before it i had received my combo hsv 1 and 2 igm and igg result . igg was postive but igm was negative. kindly suggest. i already taken 23 hiv
Vineet where are you located? In India? I would like to know if there is a place that does type specific IGG testing. I am in the same boat as you were initially. I got an IgM negative result and an IgG positive (2.9) result but it was combined it seems as there was no breakdown information. I find it hard to beleive I contraced HSV from my recent one time unprotected oral. I haven't had symptoms but I'm curious and anxious about any possible infections and anti bodies in my blood.
Thank you. What did the doctor initially suggest when you got your combined IGG positive of 3.03 and igm negative? Did he tell you that you definitely have some type of herpes or did he tell you that you need further tests?
Thanks for sharing. I wonder why they sell the test if everyone has posititve IGG and it tells you nothing. Did he suggest to you to take the type specific Igg test or did you do it yourself?
