herpes risk

Hi,I have a question about an encounter I had with an escort . We met this past Fri and Sat night and we had sex for 15 to 20 mins both nights. I was literally in her for that time. I was completely covered with a condom, and there was no grinding if the pubic mound area. She was moving her hips around so it all lasted longer and I know there was no grind.  My ques is this. I noticed a pimple with a white head on side of shaft tonight. I also saw a part of shaft in that area that is red and looks like a slghtly raised rash.I can feel a burn and itch. Part bc I put clobetasol on it. These areas were covered with the condom. Shld I b concerned bc they were covered and dr Hook has said in past that if covered u wont get herpes there. Outbreaks etc.

Ok..It has been 24hrs now, if this is still there in the A.M I will go to urgent care and at least have it looked at.   I guess I wanted to understand how it could possibly be herpes (It may not be, thinking it is psoriasis) if the area where the issue I am having at the moment was covered completely by a condom? I would expect somethng to be on the mound or maybe lower base of shaft if anything b/c I am not talking about unprotected sex here.

Anything can be swabbed, it is best to have the lesions swabbed within 48 hours of them first appearing for the best chance of catching what might be the cause.

I am not familiar with the swab, does it matter if there is a blister or no blood or anything? All that is there now is like a pimples but not. slightly red. No blisters, semi rashy

Yes a blood test would be accurate, but you need to wait 12-16 weeks.

A swab can be done now and confirms both type and location swiftly in the positive.

Why a swab, would not an igg or wb at the right time be accurate?

The best thing to do is seek a swab of any lesions as soon as you can.

Can herpes be spred if you were a condom and the point of infection be where the condom is protecting you? Also, can herpes bleed? I have never been diagnosed for it but I am waiting for the time frme to be up so I can test. I had a rash develop after mastrbating and it is bleeding, ( 3 siff spots on upper bottom of shaft) maybe psoriasis related not sure

should clarify it is happening in all those areas, thighs, pubic mound and base of shaft for burning and also an itch with the burn at the penis shaft base sometimes.

Ok,thanks.   it is happening at the same time and the burning/itchiness is at the base of the shaft but no rashes or anything else  but I wonder if all this could be related to hair follicles growing

On their own, these symptoms are usually not related to herpes. It is a good idea to follow up with testing if you have concerns or before entering a relationship.

Hi, got another question. Can you tell me if burning on the thighs with no rash or burning in the pubic mound and shaft of penis would be symptoms of herpes w/out rashes? I did shave a week an a half ago so that may be it but the thighs, it just seems odd to me.

Well the rash and is pretty much gone, I can see very little that is flesh colored and a little itchy but correct me if im wrong but since the rash showed up last and is just about gone less than 24 hrs later, it would not b herpes rite? Prob a fungal...

I saw doc two weeks ago and I asked questions about igg and wb. I wanted a test and he ordered the wb. No more meeting these women. I'll get another wb 4 months frm now. But I will try to get this swabbed.

Well that kind of raises the question of why bother having a Westernblot done if you routinely sleep with escorts? This completely cancels the result.

The best approach is to have symptoms swabbed if they emerge and test before entering a relationship.

You will almost always get an initial outbreak that includes the site of infection, but it can spread to other nerve endings in your genital area.

Hence if your only symptoms are in the protected area there is a good chance they are not herpes.

Have you had HSV testing before?
