herpes scare
the last time i had sex was about 8 weeks ago, the female i was with got tested last week and today she showed me her results and they were negative if i understand the paper work, so my question is what the chances of her being positive? i got tested as well and ill get my results tomorrow, so if my results are also negative what are the chances i should test again at 12 weeks?
so bro your scare about HSV 2 is baseless as your result is negative. You can put this into rest.

ok, but do recurrences start like the first outbreak? in other words would there be just as many bumps?
Would they always turn into blisters...burst, crust and scab over. Would the symptoms change?

if you have new symptoms, be seen again for non-herpes related testing. if you aren't happy with the provider you are seeing now, find a different one.

ok i understand, and yes i went in again and she didnt want to test me again because she seem sure that it wasnt herpes because of the test, she said that if i was positive i would have shown positive by 7 weeks with this test.
She said if i want to be sure than come back in 2 weeks and test again. she also said that that a herpes blister is a herpes blister and it would like a herpes blister.
Know she didnt do any of that, i dont know why, maybe because i wasnt having any symptoms at that point, but honestly the main reason i was so afraid was because i have never seen anything on the shaft of my penis before, but i have had hair bumps and i think i have folliculitis which looks a lot worst than what i saw on my penis but i never freaked out.

please be aware that not only do I work full time but I also have a family and a life. I don't always get on the forum daily and when I'm short on time, I can only answer a few posts. that is why in the read before posting post on the forum, I recommend bumping your post back up to be seen when it's not answered in 24 hours. It's not picking and choosing who to answer as much as this is all volunteer for me and my time if often limited.
are you worrying excessively about herpes as a cause of your symptoms? yes you are. since you were negative prior to this partner, most likely you would've had very "classic" and obvious lesions as a sign of your infection. your symptoms you are having currently aren't likely to be due to herpes and you should move forward from thinking that they are. not likely that your partner contracted herpes and it isn't showing up on her testing either with her clear negative.

most people get hsv1 as a child, or just through out life, its simply spread through a kiss or contact with an skin to skin contact with an infected person and its said that 90% of the population has it,

If i was you i would go get a second opinion from another doctor, go to a clinic and ASK for a type specific IGG herpes blood test for hsv 1 and 2, and as long as there has been enough time sense ur encounter (7 to 16) weeks, these results will give u a conclusive answer on if u have either 1 or 2 or both and if u do TELL UR WIFE THE TRUTH so she can get tested too.
If u have kids and either one of u have been kissing them you need to have them tested as well because u may have passed it to them.

The worst thing is i dunno whether it is HSV1 oral or genital. Do you have any idea how to get a definitive answer on this? My doc advice is to finish the medicine for 10 days and ignore the question whether it is HSV1 oral or genital.

she says, FIRST do what ever ur doctors tells u to do! The antiviral meds DO NOT GET RID OF THE VIRUS....the virus will be in ur body forever.
If the doctor says u can stop taking them than ok if not than keep taking them!
The meds only help control outbreaks and shedding or spreading, so if ur doctor tells u to keep taking it than thats what u need to do!!!!!

1) I m now on antiviral for treating my HSV 1, if I were to get a retest, what is the appropriate time frame? For instance, 3 months or longer after stopping the antiviral treatment.
2) 11 week post encounter result is it conclusive? If I get a retest, the possibility for my result to be positive since my last hsv 2 result is in increasing trend.

my life becomes miserable as that encounter...the above-mentioned symptoms still persist until today. Now i even have new symptoms: mild pain in testicle and tip of my penis. Make me like having the sensation of ejaculation urge.

jackfrost27, if i were you i wounldnt worry at all as the female u had sex already tested negative. You feel relief and not continue worrying.
It is hard to give you a definite answer based on the question you asked and that why no response from Grace. I m in the same boot as you.
Now i just assume i m positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2 and i m treating my HSV1 with antiviral even without symptoms as my doc insisted it, due to the high value of antibody found.
i went to ur profile and read ur last post and i know u dont have to worry about HIV, because u had a condom on and HIV is transmitted inside the body so u cant get it rubbing on the outside. The symptoms u said u have dont sound like anything i have read about hsv 1 or 2 so ur best bet is to see a doctor and get tested but from the sound of things u dont have much of anything to worry about! I no its tough to deal with anxiety and what could be, trust me im goin through it right now, but at least u have gotten a lot of responses saying u have nothing to worry about. i think my symptoms are much more likely to be hsv related and no one is responding to my post!
I also have the same problem like you...first HSV 2 test was < 100 but the second test increased to 169, after one month plus...that is my 11 week post-encounter.

shes says she was with someone or at least guy for sometime before our last encounter, but i feel shes a bit hot in the *** so i cant trust that she even makes a guy put on a condom, but on the other hand everything i have asked from her as far as getting tested for me and showing me paper work and maybe even telling me the truth she has done it, but with herpes being so unpredictable its hard to trust anyone. If my partner and i both got tested at (week 7) at the same time for herpes 2 and we both came back negative but her score was lower than mine, do you think im less likely to show positive at week 11?
