the last time i had sex was about 8 weeks ago, the female i was with got tested last week and today she showed me her results and they were negative if i understand the paper work, so my question is what the chances of her being positive? i got tested as well and ill get my results tomorrow, so if my results are also negative what are the chances i should test again at 12 weeks?
ok, i can do that but the problem is i have to have an appointment to see the doctor before i can get my results, or wait till i get something in the mail telling me my results was abnormal! smh!!!! my appointment is not until june 12. but the female i was with her results were hsv1 0.10 and hsv2 0.42
I got tested because i saw a couple little bumps on my shaft a couple weeks after being with her, i popped them because at first i thought they were pimples or something of the sort, and a lil clear fluid came out, but before i popped them you could not tell there was fluid in them.
There was no pain and it didnt look like anything i saw online, and i didnt have any other symptoms other than i was a lil sore under the neck but im not sure if it was before or during the time i saw the bumps. Nothing new has popped up sense!
The sex was protected!
There were no visible bumps or lesions on her.
I havent been with sense and we did have a sexual relationship about 6 or 7 months before the last encounter and she said the guy she was with had also been tested and was negative.
I got my results for my blood test today hsv-2 it was 0.67 negative!
The girl i had sex with got tested and her results for hsv-2 it was 0.42 negative!
Her results for hsv-1 it was 0.10 negative!
the scale is 0.90 or less is Negative
0.90 - 1.10 Equivocal
1.10 or more Positive
I got my test done at about 7 or 8 weeks after being with her.
keep in mind know about waiting 12 weeks or more im just looking to ease my mind.
How accurate is this blood test (HERPESELECT-HSV-2 ELISA: 3640X)
How sure can i be that my results wont change in a couple weeks?
If this was herpes and i sense i popped the bumps, how soon will an outbreak happen from me spreading it to myself?
shes says she was with someone or at least guy for sometime before our last encounter, but i feel shes a bit hot in the *** so i cant trust that she even makes a guy put on a condom, but on the other hand everything i have asked from her as far as getting tested for me and showing me paper work and maybe even telling me the truth she has done it, but with herpes being so unpredictable its hard to trust anyone. If new what i no now i would have never done a lot of things iv done sexually!!!!!!!!
i went to ur profile and read ur last post and i know u dont have to worry about HIV, because u had a condom on and HIV is transmitted inside the body so u cant get it rubbing on the outside. The symptoms u said u have dont sound like anything i have read about hsv 1 or 2 so ur best bet is to see a doctor and get tested but from the sound of things u dont have much of anything to worry about! I no its tough to deal with anxiety and what could be, trust me im goin through it right now, but at least u have gotten a lot of responses saying u have nothing to worry about. i think my symptoms are much more likely to be hsv related and no one is responding to my post!
my life becomes miserable as that encounter...the above-mentioned symptoms still persist until today. Now i even have new symptoms: mild pain in testicle and tip of my penis. Make me like having the sensation of ejaculation urge.
If i were given a chance I wont do this stupid act but now is too late. life is no second chance. Dunno how to face my wife and my family. How tell them about my condition. Luckily I have you all to share with what i feel now.
she says, FIRST do what ever ur doctors tells u to do! The antiviral meds DO NOT GET RID OF THE VIRUS....the virus will be in ur body forever.
If the doctor says u can stop taking them than ok if not than keep taking them!
The meds only help control outbreaks and shedding or spreading, so if ur doctor tells u to keep taking it than thats what u need to do!!!!!
Retesting is only a waste of time if ur doctor is sure u have hsv 1 or 2!!!!
If u do not have hsv 2 or ur not sure than retest 6 to 16 weeks after possible exposure, with igg hsv type specific blood test and that will be conclusive.
Thats the test i took at 7 weeks and she was sure that was conclusive but says if i want to test again than come back in 2 weeks but she is expecting it to be negative, i am still a lil on edge about this but she is the pro so ill listen to her and hope for the best and u should do the same.
If you are in a relationship and ur worried about ur partner than the best thing u can do is be honest with them, get them tested and if they love u and really want to be with u than you can work through it.
Herpes is very manageable so if both of u are educated about it u can get through it, the worst part of this is if u cheated, so trust issues are gonna be whats hard to get over.
From what i read herpes is really noting more than a pain in the butt skin disorder that for the most part u might not even no is there.
I have no idea where i caught the HSV1 since my encounter never involved oral sex and penetration and this is the only sexual encounter outside my marriage. The worst thing is i dunno whether it is HSV1 oral or genital. Do you have any idea how to get a definitive answer on this? My doc advice is to finish the medicine for 10 days and ignore the question whether it is HSV1 oral or genital.
As for my HSV2 result i assume it is conclusive based on your doc reply, am i right?
most people get hsv1 as a child, or just through out life, its simply spread through a kiss or contact with an skin to skin contact with an infected person and its said that 90% of the population has it,
it doesnt matter how u got hsv 1 or 2 it IF you them.
If i was you i would go get a second opinion from another doctor, go to a clinic and ASK for a type specific IGG herpes blood test for hsv 1 and 2, and as long as there has been enough time sense ur encounter (7 to 16) weeks, these results will give u a conclusive answer on if u have either 1 or 2 or both and if u do TELL UR WIFE THE TRUTH so she can get tested too.
If u have kids and either one of u have been kissing them you need to have them tested as well because u may have passed it to them.
Your doc is probably saying dont worry about it because both types of hsv can be in both places, its just a matter of what part of the body had the contact.
please be aware that not only do I work full time but I also have a family and a life. I don't always get on the forum daily and when I'm short on time, I can only answer a few posts. that is why in the read before posting post on the forum, I recommend bumping your post back up to be seen when it's not answered in 24 hours. It's not picking and choosing who to answer as much as this is all volunteer for me and my time if often limited.
are you worrying excessively about herpes as a cause of your symptoms? yes you are. since you were negative prior to this partner, most likely you would've had very "classic" and obvious lesions as a sign of your infection. your symptoms you are having currently aren't likely to be due to herpes and you should move forward from thinking that they are. not likely that your partner contracted herpes and it isn't showing up on her testing either with her clear negative.
have you been back to be seen again? have they done any urine testing for your symptoms? have they manually examined your prostate too?
ok i understand, and yes i went in again and she didnt want to test me again because she seem sure that it wasnt herpes because of the test, she said that if i was positive i would have shown positive by 7 weeks with this test.
She said if i want to be sure than come back in 2 weeks and test again. she also said that that a herpes blister is a herpes blister and it would like a herpes blister.
Know she didnt do any of that, i dont know why, maybe because i wasnt having any symptoms at that point, but honestly the main reason i was so afraid was because i have never seen anything on the shaft of my penis before, but i have had hair bumps and i think i have folliculitis which looks a lot worst than what i saw on my penis but i never freaked out.
when i first saw the bumps i thought it was hpv warts but than i squeezed them and the clear fluid came out and i looked it up and herpes was what i saw and than everything after that just seemed to fit other than the lactk of some of the symptoms they say MIGHT ACCURE. so the fact that u cant get accurate info, just a bunch of if and's and maybe's freaked me out.
But thanks for taking the time to get back to me, i was starting to lose faith in the purpose of the forum.
I have never had an out break that looks like herpes pic u might see on line, the most i have had was the itching and tingling a day maybe 2 before and than a hard bump that last a day or 2 that itches and tingles, i have been with the same girl for 13 years and she has never had this happen, and to be honest before all this happened i didnt know it was herpes, i just thought it happened when i got a cold or from licking my lips to much!..............
SO MY MESSAGE TO PEOPLE IS TO GO GET TESTED FOR HSV 1 AND 2 JUST BECAUSE, EVEN IF U HAVE KNOW SYMPTOMS OR NEVER HAD ANY OR THINK U MIGHT HAVE HAD THEM OR IF U THINK U HAVE THEM.......JUST DO IT, NO UR STATUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
