herpes symptoms

I had a herpes test a few months back and was tested positive for HSV-1, though i am not sure where i am affected. The last few times after having sex, i get a few red spots on my penis. will i have an outbreak of some form everytime i have sex? also i have a sore throat that is not strep, could i have herpes in my throat? i have no sores in mouth, but want to try and rule that out.

odds are your hsv1 is oral if you can't recall ever having had obvious symptoms in either location.

herpes doesn't cause symptoms with sex each time. follow up with your provider to see what is going on and causing you to have these rashes.  

not likely a herpes recurrence orally is causing you to have a sore throat.

i did have one "outbreak' i guess about 2 months ago. it was on the side, at the base of my penis. it was a rash and did itch for a few days. i have only had the blood work done.

a rash can be due to many things. no way to know at this point if that was hsv1 or not. usually primary hsv1 genital infections are pretty "classic" - obvious blisters and lots of pain.
