herpes test results

my igm test came negative both the times i got tested, however my IGG test came equivocal first an then positive. the range for positive is if result shows > 20 EU\ML, mine came out to be 21.50. do i have herpes?

I didn' t think so by the way you posted your results. Unfortunately I can't really  help you with your test results since I'm not familar with other herpes blood tests outside of the US.  I would look for a local herpes support group near you online to ask for help with them.

my earlier test was dthe same technology as you guys discuss. i had got an IGM of .0.47, which is negative and IGG of 1.0 which  is equivocal . so if i get 1.5..then also its positive?

i basically get these pimples\blister in my vaginal area since the past one yr. they are painfull and they come and go in a cycle. it means i have them wen i get down then they start fading and then come back 10-15 days before my date. they remain dormant for most part of the month... tht my doc is not able to see them. i can just feel that i have somei occurance which is prominent wen my date is near. wat can u say abt tht situation?

The igm test for herpes is not a worthwhile test from any maker that I've seen. It should not be drawn on you and you shouldn't have it repeated.

You 'll need additional testing done to try to figure out what your status is.  At this point try to be seen when you have active symptoms or follow up on your blood testing with your provider.

thanks alot for all the info. i basically had a encounter with a person with erectile dysfunction in july or august last yr. at year end i got a blister near my opening . i got an igg test as equivocal in march2008 can i get herpes frm a person with such a condition?

The erectile dysfunction is a totally different issue from genital herpes.  If someone with ED has genital herpes then yes you could contract it from them.

Yes if you had gential (genital) to gential (genital) contact it is possible from only one contact. It could have remained dormant from July to December. There are people who go years before they get an outbreak. So from July to December is very possible. To learn more about herpes,

thanks for  the info. one last query ...after the first outbreak, is it possible to get it evry month if its nt treated?

Treating herpes only helps to shorten the duration of lesions and shedding unless you take it suppressively.  Only time will tell how often ob's will be for each person.
