herpes transmitted through saliva from a infected individual during a hand job

So i have done plenty of research and have not found the answer that i have been looking for. I have read some questions about people asking if its possible to give themselves herpes from using their saliva for masturbation or saliva from someone giving you a handjob but my questions is a bit more specific. Well, I cant believe im even on here asking this but I dont know what to think anymore. I was with a girl who had a cold sore and sadly I never even thought about herpes or any type of disease considering iv never done anything more than kiss a girl in my past. This girl is the first girl iv gotta a handjob from and fingered her. She had a cold sore when we were messing around and I do know im at risk of getting the type 1 virus and im ok with that, what is making me freak out and not sleep at night is the fact that she used her saliva by spitting on her hand before you gave me that handjob as lubricant. We did this about 5 time in the past few weeks and I didnt even notice the cold sore until my friend pointed it out, for some reason I assumed it was a zit which it clearly was not. Im just clueless sometimes. SO my question is how likely am I to get genital herpes from her saliva considering she was infected on her upper lip? Im not sure if any of her saliva got into my urethral sphincter but that probably did happen. I dont know what to do or think I obviously stopped when I realized what could happen. Iv never read about anyone asking if they can get it from an infected person since it just sounds obvious so this may be a stupid question but im not 100% sure about it. Like I said she was my first handjob and I was just completely clueless about the cold sore since iv never gotten one. Please help I want to know exactly how deep of a hole im in or if im even in one.Thank you soo much for any information you can provide me about my situation.

this is still really low risk.  saliva is a poor way to transmit the virus.

best not to use saliva as a lube in general. it's not a good lube so it really doesn't reduce friction and it also transmits all sorts of germs from the  mouth to the genital area.  just a little fyi for the future :)

honestly if you don't get any genital symptoms in the next week or two, you know you didn't contract it. You were more at risk of contracting hsv1 orally from kissing a person than from a hand job with their saliva on it.

grace,
thank you so much for your input and advice it is greatly appreciated. When I read this today it gave me a huge sense of relief. To be honest with you I was worried to see what your response or anyone else response would be. Iv also been very stressed with finals and this made my day so once again thank you for everything. Have a blessed holiday!

Why is it that people(me included) are scared that they would catch something from a hand job?  If there was any real risk of catching something from a hand job, wouldnt it be the same by hand shaking and possible getting infrcted by not washing after a handshake and possibly bitting your nails (bad habit).  One more question Grace.  Can you tell me about your work and education?

Because you're uneducated.  Once people learn everything is ok.
