herpes?

5 weeks ago i got a bright red painless spot the size of a watermellon seed... on the head of my penis,  the next morning my penis head was burning so i went to my local clinic.  they checked my urine and it was clean, they also ran a chlymadia and ghonorea (Gonorrhea) test which also came back negative.  I asked if it could be herpes but they didnt think so since it wasnt a blister.   5 days later the pain went away, but two days after that i woke up with a tiny cut-like thing on my penis shaft.  I went back to the clinic and they still didnt think it was herpes because it looked like a tiny cut, not a blister..., and it went completely away in 3 days.  The doctor prescribed an antibiotic that would kill bacteria, but that didnt help the pain much.  it has been 5 weeks and i still feel mild pain in my genital area.......  the spots on my penis only lasted 3 days....  the 2 doctors that saw my penis didnt think it was herpes, but I have read that people have different symptoms when it comes to that virus.  next week im going to get a blood test for herpes,  but what else could it be?  the common herpes sores last up to 3 weeks,   and I didnt have anyhting like this,  I just had red spots that never blistered and went away in 3 days... I have been, however experiencing pain on my genital area for 5 weeks, even after the red spot went away........... could it be some kind of fungal infection like yeast, balantis?....  

I have one sexpartner who hasnt had any symptoms,  but you never know.....  im more worried about what is wrong with my penis and getting the proper treatment, then weather or not my partner is hiding an std.....

You need to wait to get a type specific herpes igg blood test done 16 weeks post encounter, not just 6 weeks.

At this point if you are still having symptoms, continue to go to the clinic to be seen and examined.  Everyone who sees you doesn't think it's herpes so no reason to suspect otherwise at this point. if you have a regular partner, odds are that they've never been tested for std's and/or herpes so if they haven't been since you've been with them, ask them to get tested.

thanks grace,  what else could this be?  Ive had cold sores when i was younger and I know how they look and feel.....  what ive had on my penis is nothing like it, it doesnt look or feel like herpes,  and it goes away fast,  however the pain on my penis remains.......  The worst thing is having doctors tell me that its nothing big and i should just wait it out........  maybe i am just being paranoid...  thank you for writing.
