let us know how your trip to the dermatologist goes!
My blood test results were Hsv2 igg 3.86.
so you were blood tested for herpes? if so, can you call and get the numeric results to post here - e.g hsv1 igg 5.9 and hsv2 igg 4.5. or whatever they are? thanks!
Ok thanks. I will definitely get tested again and go to by dermatologist.
I never had a lesion culture. I did notice bumps from time to time I just thought they were hair bumps from shaving. When I went for my annual exam I asked to get tested for everything. Thats when I got the news of HSV2. Do you recommend me getting a lesion culture?
oral herpes typically doesn't stick around this long. a dermatology consult would be a good idea.
your partner will need tested so that you can make educated decisions together about your herpes.
your hsv2 igg is still on the low side. did you ever have a lesion culture to confirm genital herpes or just a visual diagnosis of herpes and then follow up blood testing?
I got my results they are Hsv2 igg 3.86. What does the numbers determine. I haven't been tested for oral herpes yet. Neither have my boyfriend OHsv2/ Hsv2? I truly believe that's what I have. My lips have blisters on them. I never had blisters until a few months ago. I know ppl say Oral Herpes 2 are rare. I purchased some herpecin HL 30 lip balm that is slowly clearing the blisters on my lips.
some folks swear by h balm for symptom relief. it doesn't really help with long term reducing recurrences though from what most folks post about it.
he could've had hsv2 prior to meeting you and never knew it. it isn't necessarily going to be transmitted to you early on in a relationship. your partner definitely needs tested to see what his status is so that you two can make educated decisions about what precautions to take together.
if you can call and get the results of your blood test to post here, I can make sure you were properly tested. all I need to see are the actual numeric results - e.g hsv1 igg 4.3 and hsv2 igg 3.9 or whatever they are.
it's not likely that this is hsv2 orally. It wouldn't be something that would be showing up now and in folks who do have it, it rarely reoccurs.
no brown discharge isn't normal with genital herpes. you should be seen and get a proper work up done to see if you have any other infections going on genitally causing it.
you can have a dermatologist look at your lips too. this doesn't sound like it's all herpes related by no means there either.
Thank you! No my boyfriend hasn't been tested. He never goes to the hospital. Even when I was diagnosed he still didn't go. He's been my only partner for five years. I was tested for HSV/HIV IN 2007 results were negative. Either the results were wrong or he was sleeping around and won't admit. I was diagnosed in June 2010. I was diagnosed from a blood test. I don't think the sores are active but they were blisters once upon a time. I believe my lips are scared from the blisters. My lips are dark where they were active. I've been reading and I haven't been back to the doctor since the OB on my lips. From doing research and reading I believe I have OHSV2. I also have a discharge thats a brown color from the HSV2. Is that normal? What do you recommend to make it go away. Do you have any knowledge on H-balm or demiclear- I believe thats what its called. Any suggestions on how to get the blister scars to go away.
abreva doesn't do much at all for oral herpes. it barely got fda approval.
lysine also doesn't really work for cold sores either.
vitamins don't work for cold sores.
oral herpes won't stick around for 2 months. at this point you need to be seen and find out what is going on. could be that what you think are active cold sores aren't at this point or even something totally unrelated going on.
acyclovir is in the same drug class as tylenol is. tylenol will cause you illness far easier than acyclovir will if you don't take it properly. don't be afraid of prescription drugs, be informed!!
has your bf been tested to know his hsv2 status?
what testing did you have done to diagnose yourself as having hsv2?
