if you like a guy who has herpes. can you kiss him when he doesnt have cold sores and not get herpes at all? im just worried that if i kiss him when he has no sign of a breakout that i might still be able to get infected. Thanks for your time in answering my question

You could kiss many people in your lifetime who don't even know they have Herpes and  so unless you plan to abstain from kissing for the rest of your life the risk is there I'd say with almost anyone you kiss not just with this guy,you could get it from a family member,a Friend even your Granny,people have kissed since time began and I doubt fear of Herpes will stop anyone now since around 80% of the population have Oral HSV1 that wouldn't leave many uninfected people for you to kiss lol ......
But if you choose not to kiss anymore that would be your own decision :)

Odds are always going to be that you won't contract hsv1 from your partner but the risk is there.  Statistically 1 out of every 2-3 adults in the US alone has hsv1 orally whether they know it or not.  Have you been tested to know your own status?
