herpetic whitlow finger

herpetic whitlow finger

i have genital HSV-2 but i'm not very sure how i got HSV-2 on my finger. i think its probably because i had a genital outbreak and i accidentally touched it when i was peeing. (the doctor did a culture test on my finger and confirmed the results.)

i'm not sure if this was during the initial period when i first got herpes (that was like 2-3 years ago), like my body haven't developed antibodies to the virus and i "auto-innoculated" (which means infected) another part of my body.

Qn 1: Or was this only recent? because we can still infect parts of our body if we're not careful?
i'm really not sure. can advise?

one thing i do know is, the outbreaks of little blisters on my finger is more painful, seems more frequent, and seem to take longer to heal (because i keep getting my hands wet to wash them, and the wound weeps) . timing between outbreaks is about 3 months.

Qn 2: if i have herpetic whitlow HSV-2 on my right middle finger, will i experience only viral shedding on that finger or my whole right hand or both my hands?

thanks in advance for your professional advice!

May there be a cure or vaccine for herpes soon!
