high levels of herpes zoster in lab work (chicken pox 3 x) unexplained rash
i need some help here with this annoying rash that i started off as chicken pox so i was told by a dr . about a year ago i worked at a airport and my co worker was sent home for the chicken pox as a younger child now im 26 yr old i had chicken pox 2x no vacciantion the 1st time was very mild case and then the last time was very severe head
as well cheeks . i went to the dr i thought i got the chciken pox dr agreed with me but said it was very rare at my age to get the chciken pox more than once now i have had it 3x it was now called shingles not chicken pox he prescriebd me acyclovior now that medication or it was the shingles made me so sick and sore i didnt leave my bed i felt like i was a 80 yr old woman my joints ached to move i had the chills
and gave me more acyclyvior to take waited for those results to come back by then the so called chicken pox lets just say around 3 and half weeks of initiial breakout they started to fade away and dry out and not itch .. called dr for results he then tells me the culture was non virual ??? ok and then said he has no clue what it is and sent me on my way i then moved away rash didnt resurface agian untill 6 months later not as bad but still ittchy and very annoying last around 2-3 days then they dissapear for around 3-6months i may get an occasional spot but ussually they come in intervals of 3-6 months or once a year i went and got teasted for all stds recenlty my primary dr ran lab work for hepatatis panel and full lab panel he said that my herpes zorster level was at 1.92 which is high and asked have i ever had the chicken pox im like yes 3 x i have he looked at me and told me to go to a gyno to be ckd for herpes now my question is this .. if my levels are high would i be having reacuriing breakouts of the shingles to this day since iv gotten the big breakout of the chicken pox i have not been the same my energy level is down im tired all the time i hurt my bones ache iv arthritus my joints are killing me ..
my mother i do know has cold sores alot i know she probally is a carrieer of the herpes simplex virus the oral one becasue all my siblings including me get them whenever we are stressed last tiem i had one was 4 yrs ago .. im complety lost this rash drives me crazy no dr knows what it could be becaus my labs show that im complety healthy other than my level being high in the zoster catogory can anyone help or lean some insight my way id really appreciate it , do i have herpes ????? am i carreier is that why i break out the way i do i know i will always carry it in my body for life but what is goign on with me why do i feel so terriable im 27 i shouldnt feel like im 70 ....please help anyone ..p.s mother was diagonesed with fibromaylsia 3 yrs ago drs were not sure why maybe im just following in here shoe but if there is somethign i can do about it then i want to do it now when iam young ...
thank you grace for replying i appreciate it well i go to the gyno on the 19th of june to get tested for herpes ordered by my primary dr but if it were herpes it woulda showed as a virus not non viral when they cultured it ...i probally got like exzema (eczema) or psiosusis of the skin someone once said becuase i never get it during the winter it cold be summer rosesea only when my skin gets hot ..who knows ..all i know is that it drives me crazy lol ..next stop is the dermatoligst which is 200 miles away i live in bfe land hheheheh..well the only one that takes my insurance ....and u know they get expensive ..well thnsk for the help and il keep u posted ...nicoleta
You can contact your insurance and ask them to approve a closer dermatologist. Many times they will do that for you. Your regular doctor will need to also contact them with a note as to why it's imperative that you are seen by a dermatologist.
A blood test isn't really going to help you much here either to be honest. Even if you do test + for hsv1 and/or hsv2 - it's not going to explain what the cause of your rash is. A blood test only tells you what you have, not where you have it.
