Your result is considered a low positive and needs confirmatory testing with a Biokit for Western Blot. Why were you tested? Did you have symptoms?

i was tested because this guy i was dating for a month exgf had herpes an i got scared and got tested

by whatsnext234, Aug 05, 2009 09:52PM

my last time having sex with suspected man was on july 24
i got tested on the july 29

i known him for only a month of july
we had sex total of three times with condoms but we rub our privates together without condom

You need to wait at this point and repeat your igg blood test 4 months after the encounter. You tested way too early for it to reflect a newly acquired infection.

Any chance you can get him to get a full std screening, including testing for herpes, and share his results with you?

Your hsv2 igg was a low positive and needs further testing to confirm but since you just had sex recently and I am assuming are concerned about this particular partner, you need to wait and do your testing in a few months.

thank you so much for your help i will wait a couple months and retest

should i retest with same test or different one?

by gracefromHHP, Aug 09, 2009 02:31AM
At this point you can retest with the same test you used this time and see what it says and then go from there.

hello again i got tested again i couldnt wait any longer i tried
first time i got tested on july 29 my hsv 2 was 1.32 i didn't test for hsv 1
i got  tested for both hsv1&2 this time on september 22 my hsv 1 was greater than 5
and hsv 2 is 2.60 it look like my hsv2 number is increasing so do this mean  this is a new infection if i wait two more months it seem like my hsv 2 score will be over 5

any advice to give me thanks for taking time and helping

Your hsv2 igg is still a low positive. Since you tested way too early, you still need to just wait and retest at the 4 month mark. I recommend a herpes WB blood test at that point to confirm your low positives.  The WB can not be done before 4 months.
