how easy is hsv II passed on?

Hi

genital hsv II, is past through sexually contact normally, what other ways can it be passed on if one has herpes on the genitals type II?

for example can it be spread through using a towel, eating, drinking from the same plates cups?

if it's easily spread whats the best measures one can take to avoid passing them?

thanks for that, sorry i wasn't clear about the babies part, the book mentions it isn't that easy to spread the hsv virus to other parts or else infected babies would be covered, which makes sense.

so hsv 1 compared to hsv II would normally be less troublesme in the genital herpes conditon?

once a towel is cool or dry, any herpes virus on it is no longer an issue. the odds of you using a towel to dry off with and then later on someone using that exact spot where you used it on your genital area while it's still warm and moist to dry off their face vigorously are incredibly low. It's really not that easy to transmit. if it was, most of us would pick it up when we are kids and think nothing of germs and use everyone's towels everywhere.

you'd have to be having sex in a pool or hot tub to transmit the virus. It doesn't swim through the water to infect others.  No skin on skin contact in the pool or hot tub, doesn't matter if there are chemicals or not, infecting someone else isn't going to happen.

hsv1 is not "stronger" than hsv2 in the genital area. it sheds less and reoccurs less. read that part of the handbook again because I think you misunderstood that part.

if you have hsv orally and use your saliva to clean a contact then yes you risk hsv1 in the eyes but typically only if it's a newly acquire hsv infection orally.  you should never be using saliva on a contact lens anyways - incredibly unhygienic and many other very common infects can be transmitted very easily into your body by doing that!

not sure where your comment about babies have more breakouts comes in with all of that paragraph to be honest.

hi
this site http://www.westoverheights.com is great, gives detailed info o herpes, only thing is, it also mentions genital herpes can survive in a towel alittle longer as it can be hot and moist, so it can be possibly past on though this way.

also mentions that pools and hot tubs have chemicals in them so this kills the virus off, reducing the risk of infecting others, but however if there are no chemicals used, then the risk of passing and infecting the virus are there.

hsv I can become genital herpes but type I if infected on the genital areas, i understand that hsv I virus has a tendancy to breakout more and stronger then hsv II in the gential.

another piint it mentions, do not use saliva to clean lens you place on your eyes as you can infect your eye or rub your eyes after touching the sores, then it mentions its almost impossible for people to spread the sores to other areas like the eyes and face why hands as babies would have more breakouts in other areas due to this if had been infected by hsv II and I

almost a contradiction, i guess they still are under research.

thanks great site though

cool,

i did read somwhere not to share towels if you have genital herpes, wel shouldnt share towels anyways,

so its impossible for one with hsv II to have a shower, using a towel (wiping on the sores), then another person say with a cut on the lip, nose or face, using the same towel to dry their face, this would be impossible to pass on right?

thats all i need to know, thanks for the link i will check it out

It can only be spread with direct skin to skin contact.

I would invite you to read the Herpes Handbook that has a lot of information on Herpes.  It is free and done through the Expert on Herpes here at MedHelp.
