i got my hsv1igm it is 4.06 (positive) i dont know about hsv ......please help what i can do, please i dont know,

othere hsv 2 igm 0.04( negetive) what it means,

please helpe my marrige next month,  i should  go for marrige or not ? it is big desease or not?

what type medication for hvs 1 positive

did you also get igg blood tests done for herpes or just the igm?

Your hsv1 is + which isn't too unusual. Most adults will test + for hsv1 whether they can recall obvious cold sores or not.  

Your hsv2 is negative.

If you had sex with someone less than 3 or 4 months ago and are concerned about your herpes status from that encounter, you'll have to wait and repeat the blood test again at that time.

Thank you for reposting your results properly since you had the igg and igm's messed up when you first posted :)  Totally disregard the igm results - it's a bad herpes test overall and should've never been ordered on you.

No need for additional testing then - you waited 6 months after the encounter to get the blood test so you are negative for hsv2.

The vast majority of adults in both countries you've lived in have hsv1 orally. It's certainly not a reason to not marry someone and chances are good that your fiancee also has hsv1 orally herself - picked it up from caregivers in childhood.

You have a lot of concerns about this and a lot of anxiety. You need to talk to someone face to face about this and deal with it. I'm not sure we can help you any more on this forum to be honest.

You've never had any genital symptoms. No reason not to assume that your hsv1 isn't oral.  Most adults do have hsv1 orally whether they get obvious cold sores or not.

You don't need medication.


Oral hsv1 is incredibly common.  Your hsv1 infection is almost certainly oral even though you can't recall any cold sores ever.

You can not tell from the blood test how long you were infected.

the igm being positive also isn't helpful since in general it's not a good test and we don't recommend it being used.

You need to be following up on your symptoms with your doctor.

greace yesterday i went diff. doctor... i told my histoy and my all medical report,  he saw my penis and my lips, mouth also,

the he told me i am infected herpes type-1 in orlly and genital area (both)

then he give me aciclovir 400 mg X 3 time in a day for 5 day,

now my quation is ..........is it genital hereps or orl herpes,?
