the way you initially posted it was fine actually .

you are negative for hsv2. equivocal is actually negative if enough time has passed. it's rarely actually positive. really no reason for any further testing from this encounter.

HSV Type 2 IgG Aby
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec *0.96 (0.00-0.090), .....Positive would be >1.09.....Equivocal is 0.91-1.09 and negative is <0.91

Let me clarify the question so Grace knows what I am talking about. About 1 month ago I found out my ex was cheating on me. I do not know if he has any STD's. My last encounter with him was about 3 months ago. I go tested for everything, everything was normal except the HSV2 igg test. Here is exactly what the lab says:

HSV Type 2 IgG Aby
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec *0.96 (0.00-0.090)
         Negative    1.09

I fall under the Equivocal with 0.96. Does this mean I am positive? I have never had any signs no outbreaks etc. I had this testing down at a local urgent care center. They said equivocal could mean I could of had a past infection.

Grace can you please clarify? I have not slept all night, I have been looking all over the internet for answers and I keep ending back up at this website....PLEASE HELP
