hsv1 outbreak in mouth wont stop

fist off ive had hsv1 on my lipp growing up(as recent as 5 yrs ago) aug1 i had unprotected intercourse and oral sex with a woman who has ghsv1.then gave her oral again in mid sept(thought oral would be allright having allready had it on lipp) oct 18 i had unprotected intercourse and oral sex with a different woman.then again on nov 17.that morning i had a wierd feeling on tip of tounge.by the next day i had a painless blister on tip of tounge.then little blisters under tounge.i had it swabbed it was hsv1.sense then its moved to the gumline.roof of mouth.its more like paper cuts.or like it got rubbed with sandpaper.its 6weeks later and as i write this i have a spot on roof of my mouth thats stingging.(as of 5days ago the gal has not has an o.b)my brother is a dr. out of state.he had me go get an hiv test which was neg.then prescribed on dec3 10day prescription of acyclovir.stiil had some painless white patches/blisters on inside upper gums.then yesterday blistesback under tounge raw roof of mouth.was this my original herpes from my lipp moving into my mouth.or more likely from oral sex.whats my next move if there is one.

I was thinking of my last post.I guess I'm more interested in rather the typing could be wrong.not the neg/pos.there's no doubt I've got something herpetic in my mouth.and I know unless that pcr was miss typed.I will always have to consider myself pos.just wondering if it would be possible to have gotten it just in my mouth.and thank you grace.sometimes I forget.I'm so in to trying to make my posts right and clear

Hello grace its been a long road for me.I've been to many dentists doctors talk to a herpes expert on the phone(who didn't think it was hsv)went to an oral surgen who biopsed a sore on the roof of my mouth.but didn't check it for hsv because he said they don't appear on the roof????called my local e.r to see if they do pcr swabbs she said no.durn this time I've had 2neg hsv2blood tests.the sores in my mouth have been almost non stop.called back and asked again do u do pcr.she said yes??went got the area swabbed.resultshsv2wow.my question any chance my history of hsv1orally.could have caused a false pos.or wrong typing?should I get another swabb done?in the over 7months of this nightmare I've never had any symptoms below the waist.zero.if the pcr is right.is there any chance I have it just in my mouth?and I'm sure I had intercourse with the woman.without condom

oral herpes won't come and go that quickly.  it also typically doesn't reoccur on the areas you are getting recurrences in.  I've told you several times now that this doesn't sound like herpes.

you aren't still using all those mouth rinses and such are you?

what toothpaste do you use?

what gum do you chose ( flavor and brand)?

thanks grace.im going to stop all  female contact tell i get an answer on my problem.but through all my posts with you.i get the idea that you think its possible.that this dentist is wrong.the problem is this stuff comes and goes so quick.i got one on the roof of my mouth last evening.went to get it swabbed at the std clinic.the wont do stuff in the mouth.was going to go to a 2nd dentist who does the laser.have it zapped(get his opion) before it poped causing more sores.before i could get in there it poped on its own.left a tiny whole the size of a pin prick in the roof of my mouth.i still have remnets of one from the weekend that never turned into a blister.just got swollen and inflamed.its still a little tender.could this area still be biopsed?

sore throats are common this time of the year. no reason to worry.

see the ENT for a proper work up.

hi grace im very worried.I talked to the gal i was with fri. night.she told me she woke up last night with the chills and a sore throat(thinks she might have flu).im just freaked.its been my biggest worry through all of this.I should have just got together with her another time.I know the time frame for her being sick is probably right.when would she start seeing sores.im so worried i gave it to her on her breast.does that fact that her throat is sore point more towards her mouth.if at all?ive got an appt.with the dentist that diagnosed it twice as hsv.im going to get on alcyclaver to try and knock this down.it just seems to get crazier for me.

thanks for the response.Ive gotten mixed answers.the dentist seems 100% percent sure.he talked to me for a half hour after hours on a fri.I knew most of what he told me allready.but he was trying to be helpfull .nice guy.felt bad for me didnt charge me.the stuff comes and goes quickly.it does seem odd.that after 43 yrs on my lipp.it would choose to show up inside my mouth. he said maybe i scrapped my lipps with my teeth and sprinkeld some inside.Im to the point were if it shows up again(its just about gone again)that im going to get it biopsed.I just have to know.even know a good number of people have it on there lipp.theres something freaky about having this crap in your mouth.the problem is there can really only be 2 things in your mouth canker sores or herpes.and alot have them have been painless.which is not typical of canker sores.at some point ive got to start using a anti-viral on this stuff.in the last 3months ive had about 3 weeks clear.when it comes this stuff in the mouth im not finding an easy answer

If it was herpes then she should be on the look out for symptoms to appear in 2-20 days.  But really the length of time with this doesn't seem to be herpes.  Like grace said the swabs work fine.  Maybe your dentist needs to investigate something other than herpes.

swabs work just fine in the mouth area. odds are the swabs are negative either because they were done more than 48 hours into things which increase the false negative rate or because it's not herpes going on.

hi grace thanks for getting back to me.i just stuck to a couple of pecks on the lipps last night.kind of put a damper on things such is life.my dentist (one of 2 ive seen)said that swabbes dont work well in the mouth.(ive had 2 both neg.)both times  ive been to this dentist he seemed pos.it was hsv.i could get a biopsy but that would cost me 300.ive got about 1200 into this so far self employed no ins.rate know my entire upper gums ache like crazy.ive been checked for hiv twice.neg.hsv2 at 73 days neg.at this point i think i have to go with this dentist diagnosis.ive got the little sore he looked.plus a different area that i think.was an area i had laserd by a different dentist.(he didnt think it was herpes but he zapped it anyway coming back). from time to time i will get stinging sensations from different areas of my mouth and tounge.im to the end of my rope here its coming up on 3months.should i get on some surpressive therapy.should i be worried about my immune system

it's a shame that only a visual diagnosis was given and not swabbing was done for you.  it would be unusual for herpes to reoccur in that area.

hi grace ive had a couple of weeks were my mouth was clear.so tonight im having a gal ive been seeing coming over to my house.late in the day I noticed another tiny little pimple/blister on the roof of my mouth.I called the orignal dentist I had seen.he said he would stay open after hours for me.I sat down in the chair.opened up my mouth.he looked in for 10secounds.and says that herpes.so at this point.Im going with this whole mess has been herpes from the start.my questions.1if my lady friend has had hsv1 on her lipp in the past.would that prevent me from giving it to her in her mouth.2 if the answers no..can we just lipp kiss.with out me infecting her.or am i shedding from my lipps to.3if we kiss and she gives me oral can it transfer to my unit.i know that i should not give her oral so i wont

i wouldn't even bother with hsv2 testing for this.

should you get a return of symptoms, perhaps an ENT specialist would be more helpful for you.

someone who has hsv1 orally already, isn't going to get it "worse" or anything from someone else with it orally also.

Hi grace I did go see a ent dr.he didnt seem to interested in my problem.it was cleared up at the time.he thought mabey ulcers.which when i got home i researched.and they are almost never on the roof or gums of mouth.cost me 200.00 more.i went to a different dentist.he said maybe it was herpes maybe ulcers maybe both.I called the dr that swabbed me the 2nd time(when this all started)I was wrong that test was neg.also.but i know swabbing stuff inside the mouth is not nearly the same as swabbing other areas.so 2 swabbes 2 neg.results so at this point im just going to try and forget about it.and hope it doesnt come back.I do have a couple of questions.Im going to get tested tomorrow for hsv2.would getting the hsv1 test tell me anything further?i got tested in the early summer and it was 4.5.it would cost me an extra 50.00 is it even possible that the hsv1 that has always surfaced on my lipp in the past.could take a new path and end up in my mouth?if this was hsv1 in my mouth am i more contagiuos than some one that has it on there lipp?

Doesn't mean that every bump you get is herpes.  There are other things besides herpes that cause bumps.  You need to work with an ENT at this point for proper testing. They can swab to see if it is your herpes acting up or something else.

but what about the swab coming back possitive for hsv1.could that possible been wrong?

once again, this doesn't sound like oral herpes. I'd also stop the peroxide mouth rinses and also the tea tree oil containing products too. peroxide is non-chlorine bleach and can be overly irritating to skin. also tto can also cause issues so at this point if things aren't getting better, time to stop those too to make sure that they aren't adding to issues.

no, acyclovir doesn't cause a recurrence soon afterward.

no reason for laser treatments since at this point you don't even know what is going on!

continue to follow up with your providers and request a referral to an ENT specialist at this point.
