So in December I got a Herpes blood test from my physician. He said I was positive for HSV type 1 and HSV type 2.
He got me retested at a different laboratory and those results also came back positive for HSV type 1 and HSV type 2. A week after I got my second blood test, I went to a different doctor in NYC who wrote a book on herpes and he gave me a type specific HSV blood test. Here's where I am confused.... the third blood test that was taken said I was HSV 1 negative and that the HSV 2 test was EQUIVOCAL ??? He told the HSV 2 reading came out to be 1.08. What does this mean? I have not had any symptoms and was recommended by my doctor (the 1st one) to start taking medication as therapy to suppress any outbreaks. Any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated.
