i dont know how to read my result

i had a hsv1 and 2 blood test done on thursday 9 and my results came like this 164905 - HSV 1 and 2-Specific Ab, IgG
      HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 2.79  index 0.00-0.90 F

i haven't had any symptoms or nothing should i be woried about that is it a false positve?

1.10 positive for IgG antibodies to HSV 1
HSV igG Index Value
1.10 positive for 1gG antibodies
HSV IgM antibodies 0.64
HSV IgM index value interperted.

you can't assume a lack of symptoms means a lack of infection with herpes. you and your partner can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you know your status too.

no i didnt but i had STD testes done and gonorea and checked by the doctors and i never had have no symptoms what so ever neither has have him

most adults will test + for hsv1. Most of them don't get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected.

have you been tested to know your own herpes status?

he got tested for it and those results are from him, and im trying to figure it out if he actually does got hsv1 but he doesnt got no symptoms and i read that cold sores are somewhat one time of herpies, but im scare to get hsv1 from him if its actually the one that he got, because we dont understand those results. what your saying is that he does got hsv1? or it could be positive since cold sores are one type of herpies?????

why did you get tested? did your bf get tested to know his status?

you have only listed your hsv1 igg. it is positive. most adults do have hsv1 whether they get obvious cold sores to know it or not.  we don't doubt hsv1 results like we do hsv2 results.

what was your hsv2 igg?
