.1.10 it says i am equivocal positive for hsv1 or hsv2 antibody detection
then this is the explanation it gives me
" this assay is type specific and will differentiate between hsv1and hsv2 infections. a single positive result only indicates previous immunologic exposure and the level of antibody response may not be used to determine active infection or disease stage. the test should be repeated in 4-6 weeks when negative or equivocal results are obtained in suspected early herpes simplex disease."
now i know i got an equivocal positive and i am going to retest tomorrow, i would like to try and sleep tonight knowing i might have anything to worry about. im thinking i shouldn't especially since it has been a while since i have had any relations with another womanWomen's way. and if i was exposed to it i should have had an outbreak of some sort which i haven't.
please, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. thank you
yea sorry about the post thing. and i just got the results from the doctor today and they are about 3 weeks old. i am going to do another test tomorrow. but i still have the ? in my mind about why it came out as an equivocal positive.... have u ever had anything like this before? or have you ever even heard of that before? and another thing, if i may, the explanation the paper work gave me, what does it mean to you? if i have such a high level of antibodies, why would i come out kinda like saying its inconclusive?
once again any informations you give me would be most helpful. THANK YOU!!!
I'm confused. Your hsv1 looks like its a .13, which is clearly negative. 1.0 is equivocal. Notice the decimal points here. I don't know if you typed it wrong, or if I'm reading something wrong, but I don't see an equivocal.
Your hsv2 looks positive to me, but I don't know the history here.
i have a ? to ask though. i have never had an outbreak so this is why im so confused. but, 2 days before the test i had done some cocaineDrug abuse(inhaling it). could this have caused a radical test result? would that have any effect on the herpes results?
any information would be greatly appreciated
thank you
thank you for your helpful information grace. is there anything that could affect the herpes test results? if you know, thats would be awesome if you let me know.
confirming the results with additional testing is the best course of action.
As I said in one ofyour numerous other posts - please keep all your posts in the same thread so it's easier for us :)
