What did your bf have tested for shingles? Did he have symptoms that they tested or did he have a blood test for shingles? If he had a blood test for shingles, why in the heck did he have one?

he had signs of shingles he was tesred for all herpes came back nrgative but there telling me i have genital herpes from culture but blood tested negative now i havent been with no one else but him for almost 4 yrs

Can he get a copy of his herpes blood test results from when he was tested?  

Where were his shingles symptoms at when he had them?

found out they did igm on him but he didnt have shingles like they said and to your question he was broke out on his chest

He'll need to repeat his herpes igg blood test for hsv1 and hsv2 to see what his status is.  When they diagnosed you - how did they do it?

they did culture and blood test when i asked what blood test through lab they said general herpes 1&2 but culture pos blood neg and didnt have problems till after i had surgery fot hystrectomt took everything out but overies due to endo it seems the cathe really set me off i also have yeast infection which is normal fer me especially if i take baths instead of showers and it also burns when we did anything but i just thought it to be from surgery i had this burning urinating problem since surgery they found blood in both urine but nothing ever grew so one doc at convenient care thought i had internally cistitis sorry if didnt spell that right

Was your culture just hsv+ or specifically hsv2+?

Also how long ago was your bf tested for herpes? do you know what blood test he had done?

all they told me was i had genital herpes called lab he said test culture was positive blood test neg when i asked what type of blood test they said general hsv 1&2 so im gonna find another doc to do another blood test that does herpes select specified type if there is one here cause i live in cortland ny that dont know or have much and the doc i goto now has been going to conferences on herpes and stuff like that trying learn more so dont know if shes accurate or not ive had not been sleeping good since got call stressed out and not good for me as i have epilepse and had a stroke already

i went to docs today my other one she said that if i had either it would hsv1 which she said dont survive in gental area and that my igg came back equiv but when did culture did not see no lesions but bacteria grew showing herpes but gonna test blood in 2 months so not even sure if had it in first place told me take my valtrix for 2 months till do another blood test i hope they find out if i have it or not but she told me not to stress about it at this point it might be nothing
