I understand that igM testing for herpes is unreliable, but does that depend on the range? Should I accept this igM 3.5H result as some form of herpes and move on? Or should I retest in 3 months?

a + igm is pretty much unhelpful no matter what the numeric results of it are.

definitely repeat with a type specific herpes igg blood test later on.

If herpes like symptoms do occur prior to testing, should i then be concerned with the igm?

no, you need to get lesion cultures of symptoms or wait and get igg testing at the appropriate time.
