igm equivalent, igg negative??

igm equivalent, igg negative??

A friend of mine recently had a weird red thing on her lip, which she worried was a coldsore. She took an igg type-specific test, which found her negative for both hsv1 and hsv2 (she never shared the exact numbers with me), and then took an igm test 2 days afterward with labcorps, which yielded an "equivalent" result. Her result number was a 0.92. The test results paper she received said that anything below a 0.91 was negative, anything between 0.91 and 1.01 was equivalent, and anything above a 1.01 was positive. Her number was a 0.92.

is she negative? or is she positive? Should she retake the test?
