So i have read on the forum to ignore positive igm test results.but im still worried i have tested in the past for igm and it came up negative, this time 11 days after possible exposure it came back equivocal which has me worried about recent
exposure.I have always have hsv1 so why would the igm not read negative?I read the doctors explanation but I am still unclear can you get a false positive say you have a cold or any virus?
you paid to post on the std experts forum. HHH has said you may ask a few follow up questions in your post there. why not ask this there and get your money's worth?
I paid to post several questions as i did not read the rules 2 of my questions were similar in nature and was responded to by another doctor which is against the rules I think i upset HHH i tried to apologize to him but i think i upset him by breaking the rules by posting 3 questions within the time frame.Im just really worried havent been able to sleep over this and in light of my igm test im panicking even worse since I already know I have hsv1.Please help grace i have read many of your post and you seem kind and knowledgeable about this topic
The igm is a poor test for herpes. we never recommend it be done on adults. You need to completely ignore the + igm and stop worrying about it. For some folks, the igm is always positive. You've covered your bases at this point. If it's not been 4 months since the last time you had sex
Thank you Grace,I guess im just worried because last time i had the igm and igg test the igm was negative as was the hsv2 was negative I did have a positive hsv1.but im scared now the igm was equivicol this time instead of negative like last time my fear
