in grown hair or herpes?

(female)ok so i shave on a regular basis and get in grown hairs some times and have gone to my doctor scared that they may be herpes but she assured me they were in grown hairs and said they were to far away to even consider but recently i have noticed i couple more bumps much closer to my area and also some around my pubic area. I am able to pop some like a pimple and others i can get the hair out of. Many of them have a white tip which i was told is a sign of an in grown hair and once i get the hair out is goes away within a couple days. The ones that are close to the area also have the white head and i think i may have gotten the hair out if that is what it was and it didnt really hurt much at all. Now of course after I took got rid out the white part it is a bit tender to the touch but considerably smaller. so i just want to know if you think it is herpes or just in grown hairs?

Since herpes has obviously been on your mind, have you ever had a type specific herpes igg blood test to know your status?

These really do sound more like ingrown hairs or folliculitis even going on but follow up on it with your provider.

If shaving is giving you rashes, consider either just trimming the hair with a body trimmer instead of taking it all off or even consider a different hair removal method and see if that helps.

i went to the gyno 2 years ago with bumps and i thought i had a bad yeast infection.. the first thing she said to me was that it looked like herpes... i was like excuse me?? so they gave me medicine and said that it would go away and to call them the next week... well the medicine wasnt really helping that quick so the fowllowing week i went back and another doctor looked and said "oh no those are little ingrown hairs" i was soooo relieved! Well.. a few months ago i could tell the same thing was going on...bumps,irritation,i was in pain going to the bathroom.. it was aweful and i go to my new gyno and sure enough she actually tested me besides looking and called me back saying i have herpes... so you really never know until u get tested... its crazy and hard to admit to yourself but you dont always get it from someone else... i get cold sores on my lip and i basically gave it to myself down there from forplay with my bf...
