. i started having itchiness and disharge about a week later. I thought it was a yeast infection, i treated that. I had what seemed to be an allergic reaction
to the same yeaste infection treatment i used, so I assumed it was that. I went to a clinic to get an opinion and a prescription. She told me it looked like herpes. But i wasn't really having many symptoms of it. and nor did i notice any bumps. I have these constant small red bumps at the top of my vagina opening, near the clitoris. she did a test for herpes and they only call back if its positive. i never got a call back. then 2 months later i had a PAP
done and he said it was herpes. I've still got the red bumps near my clitoris, and about 9 months later i had what i thought was an outbreak. I wasn't sure because I had never had one, and i just noticed bigger bumps than normal. nothing else. no other symptoms of herpes. he gave me a perscription and it didn't clear up as quickly as he said it would. but i still have those red bumps near my clitoris. Now i have another couple of bumps forming, but again, zero symptoms of anything. I popped one, and it seemed more like a zit. I found something online about 'zits vagina' http://eacneskincare.tblog.com/archive/2006/03/ about halfway down the page. which describe more of what was happening. like bacteria has built up. i haven't been wearing cotton underwear while working out. Could it just be this zits vagina thing, or is it herpes even if the only symptom im getting is a couple of bumps.
and what are these red bumps that i constantly have near my clitoris?
it also states that zits vagina is most commonly caused by hormonal changes. a year ago, when i was told it was herpes, i went off birth control. I had been on it for 6 years. Could that have been a hormonal change that caused it?
I'm doubting that your red bumps or zits or whatever you want to call them that have been there for this long are anything abnormal to be honest. You've seen a few practioners who haven't thought they were worth commenting on evidently. They don't go away. Probably something that you never paid much attention to before but now looks like a giant billboard in your nether regions to you from all of this. Whatever you do - stop picking at them! It only serves to spread bacteria or if it's something more along the lines of molluscum
the first one she tested for was herpes. she said it looked like it and she tested for it. i think more or less she wanted to give me **** for having unprotected sex. she said that if they found anything in the test results they would call me. then told me to go to the std clinic and be teste for hiv. i did that the next day. i expressed my concerns to the much nicer nurse upstiars saying i didn't agree with what the first nurse said. she said 'i can have another uncomfortable look for you and take the same test she did, or we can just wait for results' i waited for results. and i waited. and nothing came back. then in january i had a pap done. i told him i was sure i had an allergic reaction to the yeast infection medicine i took and he just said mmhmm ok. and then he called me back to view test results and he told me it was herpes. i got angry because the last results came back negative and he said he can't speak for the other clinic. he never really went into much detail about it. i did some reading on my own for what to do about them and so forth.
Well actually you can call the first clinic you were seen at twice and have them send a copy of your records to your regular doctor. No idea why your own doctor didn't suggest that?
I'd also call your regular doctor that you had the follow up testing that said + for herpes done at and ask to speak to either your doctor or one of the nurses. Ask them to look up your test results from that appointment and let you know just how you were tested for herpes and if it's hsv1 or hsv2 genitally. When you get an answer - come back to this post and update me so I can better help as to what to do next.
Meanwhile if you haven't already - be sure to give the herpes handbook a read at www.westoverheights.com. It's free if you read it on the web or print it out on your own.
And yes you can have allergic reactions to yeast medications. Next time you think you have a yeast infection - go confirm it first with your doctor ( it's more likely to be a bacterial vaginitis than yeast actually which takes different treatments ) and if they do say it's yeast - ask for the oral pill for it instead of using the vaginal creams and risking another reaction. Besides why do the ole what goes in must come out messy cream if you can just pop a pill or two anyways!! Since diflucan went generic - it's the same price as the otc creams anyways!!!
