incubation period

I have been exposed to genital herpes.  I was tested imediatly after.  The test was negative.  Do I have to wait a period of time to be tested again to make sure I don't have it or this one test was enough.

Blood tests for herpes can take up to four months to become positive.  If you have been exposed to genital herpes, I would go to the doctor if you experience any blisters, cuts, or a rash to get a viral culture.

Also, make sure you get a type-specific antibody test (IgG only), such as HerpeSelect.

Good luck!
