irritated hair folicle or herpe...

I have had intercourse with 1 girl for the past 8 years. We broke up and I met someone else.  We had sex and during
sex I felt pain almost at the base of my penis after awhile into intercourse.  I didn't think anything of it and we got together again 2 more times.  The three times we had intercourse was within 2 weeks.  It's emarrasing but i'm pretty hairy down in my genital region and I noticed that a red bumps has appeared where my hair grows on both sides of my shaft, and eventually turned white.  I don't have bumps anywhere else but where the hair grows, and of course these bumps are sensitive and hurt,  Also when I pull on the hair itself it hurts.  My question is... are these bumps due to irritation and constant pulling of my hair and maybe they have become infected?  Or should I except the fact that it is in fact herpes.

Thank you for replying so quickly.  I will go get examined asap.  I just thought that maybe by tugging on a hair would cause a bump and maybe cause it to become infected.

You should stop picking at things and go and get properly examined then. if it was unprotected sex, you'll need to start the std testing process too.
