is there a cure
i was wondering if there is a cure for oral herpes type 1, my boyfriends doctor told him yes, that after seven days on the medication it will cure, but i still have doubts.
Your boyfriend seems to have mis-communicated with you, or your doctor has mis-communicated with him (most likely the first). The symptoms for herpes can disappear after 7 days with medication treatment. However, Herpes virus infections stay in your body for life. The virus will go dormant into your nerve cells and hide there, and reactive at some point in your life, whether it be days, weeks, or years. When it reactivates, symptoms may represent. If symptoms do not present, you still shed the virus particles. There is no cure for Herpes type 1 or 2 (yet). From what I have read, the optimistic outlook for a vaccine or cure, or anything of the such could be as far away as 20 years.
