is there any test for to test for herpes and how long

hi there just wondering how to test for herpes and how long u have to wait

if you have symptoms you can be seen and have a lesion culture done. otherwise you have to wait at least 3 months post encounter for a type specific herpes igg blood test.

okay so if i have a out break i can go get tested in other words if i dont they have blood test to tell cant i just go now to get tested with out a out break or do i still have to wait
