is this herpes or something else?

hi...a few weeks ago i had sex with a woman that said she didnt have any diseases...i still wore a condom but about 36 hrs later i started to see bumps on my pubic region... then they turned into small itchy blisters.... i went to the doc and he said it looks like herpes so hes doing a culture to be sure...i did have headaches and muscle aches etc...i had not symptjoms of anything before her and it had been over 2 weeks since i had sex with anyone else...does herpes show up that fast after sex and could it be anything else besides herpes that the doctor might confuse just by looking at it?

36 hours afterwards would be very quick for a newly acquired genital herpes infection.  You might also want to get a type specific herpes igg blood test for hsv1 and hsv2 this week too.

how bad were your muscle aches and where were they located.  I'm nervous i could have herpes too but i have to wait another 2 months to get tested.  I noticed my right leg is starting to ache and actually go numb.  i hope its the stress but what kind of muscle aches have you had?  Thanks

hi...so do you think its probably herpes...giving the symptoms i have. or do you think it could be something else? just worried.

It could be many, many things. herpes is not the cause of everything that goes on in between the legs.
