is this herpies?

First of all let me just say that I've had a very rough few months! Let me begin by telling you i went to the urgent care due to persistent intense itching.  I had checked online and found my symptoms to be consistent with Scabies, the urgent care doctor concured after examining a few bumps on my penis, legs, webbings between fingers etc.  She gave me some anti itch pills and a prescription for Rid-x, which i got right away and coated my entire body from the neck down. The itching pretty much immediately subsided and i was fine.  This occured at the beginning of January.  One month later i moved in with a new sex partner with whom i lived with for a month.  The last time we had sex was in the middle of February.  Around 2 weeks after that I noticed a red bump on the side of my scrotum and one about 2 inches above my penis in my pubic hair.  These two sores reminded me very much of the scabies sores from a few months before.  I thought maybe I didnt kill all the scabies and maybe eggs had hatched and i was becoming infested again.  A couple weeks later the 2 sores were still there and i noticed a light pink rash forming on the head of my penis, i also had a raised bump on the palm of my hand (another sign of scabies).  Now a couple days ago i noticed a small bump on the head of my penis to the left of the existing rash, which i slightly irritated by poking around at.  The small bump grew and turned into a blister which would discharge a small amount of clear liquid.  I also noticed what may be a discharge coming from my penis hole.  Today i woke up and found my penis to be itchy and i had a few new red patches on the sides of my penis so i sucked it up and went to planned parenthood to have an professional examine me.  She examined it and thought maybe its a herpies outbreak...she did a culture on the remaining fluid in the blister and gave me preventative antibiotics for chlymidia (because of the discharge from my penis hole) and herpies.  Now im home freaking out and i noticed an itching in the webbing between two of my fingers and there is a bump there as well.  I'm losing my mind about this and i'm praying that this is just scabies again because that can be cured.  What does it sound like to you??  I experience no pain...just itchiness, the blister can be painful when touched, but i find that to be true of any open wound.  I wont here back about my test results till friday which seems like an eternity.  I'm hoping somebody may read this and put my mind at ease, but I'd really like to hear honest opinions.  The doctor at planned parenthood was short with me and not too forthcoming with any real answers. Thank you very much.

I recommend going monday to be seen again at your regular provider to see if the scabies is back. It's not likely you have herpes on that many body parts so follow up for a 2nd opinion on the rest of the symptoms.

have you talked to your former partner to see what std testing they've had done and when?

I know that Yeast infection, or Thrash causes sores and itching, as well as shingles. I am sure there are others but Grace would be better suited to answer that. Google is your friend. :)

Oh, I feel the same way. Sooner or later, GracefromHHP will comment on your post. She is one of the experts on here. She can attest, I was the one FREAKED OUT all last week. Still am. At least you have test in. That is the best thing you can do for yourself, and you have already done it. Now, you gotta find a way NOT to play with it, or make it worse. ALSO.. must that you inform your partner and have them tested as well.

Waiting sucks, and not knowing, is the worst feeling in the world. :(

You are right though, its NOT the end of the world. MANY people have this... I think its like 1 in 5 or 6 depending who you ask. That's a lot of people with Herpes at an NFL football game of 70,000.

The best thing I read about herpes, is it is a skin condition from a virus... it is not a health issue, meaning you wont get sick or die from it (well,, it could happen that way but I think the odds are greater that aliens would snatch you).

by the way good luck with your situation as well.  BTW what are the other stds that cause blistering in that region?  Aside from my blister and the itchy red areas I haven't had the typical sore areas and flu situation.  In fact, I feel fine except for an itchy penis.

Thanks Hochee.....I guess I'm just feeling like its the end of the world if it is herpies.  I know its not and its fairly common, but damn its just a lot to handle right now.

No doc here.. but sounds to me like it could very well be herpes. Nothing you can do now except wait. Don't scratch, and try to not to poke and prod it. Hard to do I know.. I don't follow that very well myself.

You need to ask your partner to get checked as well. That is very important for them.

I've been waiting all week myself.. not for test results, but for any symptoms since my exposure. If I do have symptoms, then I'll be right where you are, waiting for test results.

Blood work cannot be accurately done until 12-14 weeks. More accurate at 3 months. However the sores and discharge can be tested now.. which I believe you already have done.

Note, other STDs or health issues can cause symptoms very similar to herpes... so there is no YOU HAVE IT at this point. You have to wait for the results.

Best of luck.
