just found out I had herpes

just found out I had herpes

Well I just found out yesterday I have genital herpes.. The nurse said she couldn't tell how recent but that the infection was pretty recent. Both me and my partner have been clean our entire relationship 2yrs(both having std checks) I actually noticed 2 weeks ago a blister formed on my ring finger then a day or two later little red dots appeared. I don't have medical except for std checks and pap smears so that is why I went to my ob to get it checked out thinking it was whitlow and long behold she found out I have herpes down there! I've had paps and std checks since I was 14 and never have had anything, I am 20 now.
I am going through my first ob, I can't even tell down there. I can't see anything or feel anything except when I walk sometimes. It's mainly my hands and eyes bugging me...
My eyelids are feeling alittle sticky and dry so I do not touch any part of my face. They feel but don't look swollen. I have had stys in my bottom eyelids for years so maybe this is making them flare up? I am not sure if I had the whitlow then touched down there and that's how it became genital? I have one single bump above my lip, looks like acne though. I usually get alittle here and there around my nose and mouth so idk what to think about that.....
I have a 3mo old son, he had a few bumps on his fingers..took him to the dr and he said he was perfectly fine and healthy.... Been using gloves anytime I change his diaper just incase. And am always wearing bandaids. I have 3 sores right now, looks more like a itchy rash then anything but I'm not taking chances. I've had bandaids on for a week now so maybe that's why they're not going away but I can't take them off and risk my son! I am on acyclovir 3x for 10 days. I do not want to infect my precious son, he does not deserve this. Idk how I got this since we both were not unfaithful but I'm NOT letting this get me down. I deserve to live a happy life. My guy has been so supportive and didn't even think twice about staying.

My questions are, do you think I could have whitlow too? Will the outbreak always be there, or when it does go away how will I know? How will I be tested for it? Seeing as I didn't even see it in the first place!
What is the chances of spreading to my son if I constantly wash my hands and use gloves when I think I have an outbreak?
If my bf has it, can we have sex w.o condoms still? My dr said that is perfectly fine since we can't reinfect each other.
Can I sleep in a shirt and undies or do I always have to wear a full snow suit to bed just to not infect myself!
Can I rub my eyes ever again if this goes away?
And can I be around people even if I have an outbreak on my hands????
Please answer all!
I can handle the genital, don't ever touch down there and neither does my bf. But I use my hands daily obv and will devestated to find out I have this. I want to be the best mom I can and live as much as a normal life as I can!
Thank you for reading.

what testing have you had done for herpes so far?

what genital symptoms did you have that your gyn saw?

see a regular provider or a dermatologist for your hand symptoms - they don't sound like herpes. same as your eye symptoms don't sound like herpes either.

gloves for changing diapers when you have any hand rashes is always a good idea. a band aid covering rashes for general contact is fine.

you can sleep buck nekkid if you want dear - you aren't going to spread herpes all over yourself if you even have herpes on multiple body parts.

your bf will also need herpes testing to know his status too.
