Getting hsv1 on your thighs now after all these years would be highly unusual. Your provider, who actually saw these symptoms, doesn't feel that it's due to herpes which is also a sign that it probably isn't.
Having it in one location gives you significant protection against contracting it elsewhere - not 100% but it's up there quite a bit and not worth worrying too much about - just use common sense. For instance - don't perform oral when you have an obvious cold sore present or feel like one is about to start or if your neck/chest blisters are present, keep your shirt on during sex to cover them and ask your bf to stay away from your neck ( hopefully he's not a vampire and this won't be a problem...he he he ).
The only way to know if your symptoms are due to herpes on your chest and neck that you've been getting for awhile now is to get them cultured for herpes when they are present. Next time they are there, go and be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for better answers.

Is it true that since he has it on his lip, he wont get it elsewhere because of his antibodies and if I have it in more than one location it is because I was exposed in more than one place before I had any antibodies?
