my girlfriend proformed oral sex the day before the broke out with a cold sore

as title says my girl friend gave me oral sex the day before she got a cold sore now i am not so worried about oral herpes that i can deal with and seems most people have to i am just worried about genital herpes what are my chances for getting them after the other night and what would happen if i did.

Have you ever been tested for herpes to know your own status? Even if you can't recall a history of cold sores, that doesn't mean that you don't already have hsv1.

At this point the only thing you can do is wait and see. If you get any genital symptoms within the next 2-3 weeks, see your provider and explain the situation to them and get testing and typing done. No obvious symptoms within the next couple of weeks and you most likely didn't contract hsv1 genitally from this.
