neck nerve pain

Six months ago I contracted HSV2 and now have groin and neck pain but also numbness in my left leg.  The in pain in my neck is debilitating and never goes away but does change in its degree.  Sometimes I can't turn my head at all or touch my shoulders.  Do you have any recommendations.  Started taking a B-vitamin complex about a week ago.  Hoping that will help because IB profin, tylenol nor aspirin helps.  Should I see a neurologist or an infectious disease doctor?

Thank you for your response.  Going to neurologist tomorrow.  I hope it is a compressed disk or something and not herpes.  Can you tell me if you know; I am in so much pain in my scrotum area and leg, does that mean the virus is not latent and running up and down my nerves or because I am not experiencing OB but nerve pain, do I have nerve damage?  Confused as to how to control the nerve pain,  Wondering if herbs such as Olive Leaf Extract, co-enzymatic Vit B complex, could help with the nerve pain.  I don't believe the Valtrex is working for me; Side affect is a very bad headache.
Thank you

This may of course be completely unrelated to the herpes infection.

If it is related, then it could be a rare case where the virus has escaped from the genital region and is causing problems. This is quite rare for HSV2 though. In nearly all these cases, antivirals help the situation immensely.

Do get checked out though, do not automatically assume this is related to HSV2.
