about 5 days ago with a girl that says she is clean (I have no verification of this). I got a biokit test that came back negative today. I have redness above the penis
, it is kinda blotchy. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about but biokit says you should wait 2 weeks before a test, the doctor told me - 2 weeks was the average with results showing up in as little as 4 days and that given the symptoms if i had it it would come back positive. should i still be worried? is there anything else that could cause such redness (slight ichyness - i am not sure if it is in my head
It can lead to irriation. Its like rubbing your skin with water. It will get irriated after a while. Speaking from experince on this one too (ex-wife was a squirter) so it will happen.
I agree with the doc. It happens! :-) 5 day biokit I am sure was way to soon. If you get any other symptoms see your doctor. Otherwise if you want to retest you can in 12-16 weeks after the encounter.
If it was herpes would i expect the redness to get worse over time and develop into sores? does redness precede sores? the redness is also not on my penis but around it
What you are talking about sounds like a fungal infection. I have had one just recently that I think I finally got rid of but it maybe coming back. The redness usually comes with the sores. I think you have a fungal infection and need to treat it. Stop worrying about Herpes at this point. If they thought it was Herpes I am sure they would have given you a lot more information and told you they thought it was herpes. Sounds fungal and your doctor gave you an anti fungal medication (one that I used myself. I didn't find it as effective on my fungal infection in the groin but I did find it cleared up my altheletes foot.)
so just to clarify, a fungal problem might come with sores as well as a rash and a herpes problem would also lead to sores from a rash? or does the herpes usually start with sores/pimples?
I had 2 yeast pustules on my forskin. So yes it can come with bumps. It also has a red area. Herpes can be misdaignoised as a fungal infection as can a herpes be a misdiagnoisis when its really a fungal infection.
I can tell you now what I pretty sure her response will be.
5 days is not enough time for an accurate test. The body takes time to build up anitbodies to a level which is detected by most test. But she may comment later.
so the rash as responded well to the clotrimazole - fading away over the last couple days (still remains-light pink color). At the same time I have had swollen glands. Is there anything to make of these contradictory symptoms?
you were seen and were told that this didn't look like herpes. if this reoccurs, be seen again and a lesion culture of active symptoms is helpful. meanwhile if you need the peace of mind, repeat your igg herpes test at the 3 month mark. the risk of contracting genital herpes from a one time protected encounter is incredibly low.
