ocular herpes question

Hey gang, I have a question about ocular herpes.  First a little background, found out last year I had HSV 1 from a blodd test, never had any sort of symptom my entire life, doc said probably got it as a child.  A few weeks ago I noticed sort of a "rash" on my right eyelid.  I thought ocular herpes just affected the eye itself, but I'm not sure.  It just looks sort of red and flaky, a bit sore to the touch, but not that bad.  It's come and gone for the last few weeks.  Probably nothing, but I'm nothing if not paranoid!  Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks again!

The best thing to do is to go see your doctor for an exam. This could be just dry skin, it could be a viral infection, a bacterial infection or even an allergic reaction to something just for starters. NOTHING replaces a face to face exam by a qualified medical professional.

Meanwhile - look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself - ok now what are the chances that I'd have picked up hsv1 sometime in my lifetime and it would never, ever, ever cause symptoms around my eye area until after I knew I had it?  See where I"m going with this?
