hello...i have just recently been diagnosed with hsv 1 and hsv 2..im not sure when i was exposed to the disease beacause i have had no outbreaks. i have been doing some reasearch online and came across ocular
herpes...my question is could i be at risk for it if i used my saliva a few times (not knowing i was positive) to clean my contact lenses?? PLEASE HELP! i am freaking out!!!
can you get your test results to post here for me to look at? all i need to see are the actual numeric results - ie hsv 1 igg 5.5 and hsv2 igg 5.4 or whatever they are.
you should never, ever, EVER use saliva for "cleaning" your contacts with. That's eye care 101 and I'm sure you were told that when you got your contacts. eye infections are easily contracted from doing so.
O thank you so much for your response! I truly truly appreciate it. Yes I will get them tommarrow for you. What do the numbers mean?? I am clueless when it comes to this. I am new to this disease and am really scared and worried. I read on a website you can give yourself ocular
herpes by using saliva for your contacts. I know ur not supposed to but I was at work and it fell out not thinking I stuck it in my mouth. Dumb I know! Thank you again for your help. I will get those numbers tommarrow.
The numbers are mainly how much of the anitbody was found in the sample after you reached the positive point. Anything negative regardless the number is negative its just the number against the control part of the test.
